Outliner by Carbon Fin for iPhone & iPad
I’ve had conversations with several people bemoaning the fact that most task managers don’t provide the ability to “nest” items in a collapsible tree like format. While some do, those that do tend to be missing other significant features.
Enter Outliner. Outliner allows you to set up as simple or complex an outline as you wish. It has numerous options and abilities, a key one for me being the ability to sync to the cloud. They also have a good web version called Outliner Online which I find very handy when I’m at a computer, and this syncs with the portable versions. The app costs $5 for each version but that’s still super cheap compared to what you would have paid for this in the old world of box product.

For Liquid, this is not only the launch of a new app but the launch of an initiative to bring a whole world of new experiences to touch devices.
12 years of independent operation with no missed payrolls and no projects cancelled is a profoundly difficult task which we have come to complete. It is mighty in this time of uncertainty. Mighty and thought provoking. Our industry is in a time of awe inspiring change and jubilant energy. A time where old ways of being fall away to new life. In this time, it is profoundly uplifting to bear witness to the new shoots of growth that are springing forth on Liquid soil; watered and fertilized by the efforts of the past.
It is in times like this that I find myself not only attempting to canonize the purpose and resolution that gives us the will to succeed but, also endeavoring to lift up the great new hope and optimism that Holly and I have for our collective futures.
For this time, this place, and this resurgence I have a passage, written in 1910 by Theodore Roosevelt which is particularly relevant. I’m not much of a praying man but, if I had to create my book of psalms, this would be in it.
It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.

We are a special place. A place with goals and ambitions that exceed the bulk of our industry brethren. We must find warmth and solace in the loftiness of our goals and the camaraderie of those who share these beliefs. Because of this path our shortcomings have come to exceed the best efforts of many of our fellows. Our trials are the hardest because we want the best. Yes we will be criticized but, criticized for striving greatly. We could always choose to do something easier, something safer but, there is greatness in striving greatly even if we do not attain the ultimate successes.
We are a special place but, not an everyplace. We have challenging goals and dreams that will do battle with the staid beliefs of many. So, there will always be those who don’t understand, lose faith in, or don’t care for our goals. God bless them. May they find happy lives in places more suitable. This special place will never give up on finding those capable and willing to stand together in difficult work that is lightened by camaraderie. It is these people who understand and believe in the goals of Liquid beyond any given project or task. For these people, my door, my heart, and my mind are forever open.
We are all crew aboard the good ship Liquid and we are in search of great treasures. We want nothing less than to win the hearts of the world with our cool characters, welcoming worlds, and transportive stories which allow our fans to fade from this world for a short while and yet be left with a resonant and positive imprint of their experience when they return.
